Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actress, dancer and singer. Her early performances on Broadway included in productions Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. The play You Can't Take It With You, she won the Tony Award as Best Featured actor in an Play. Tony Award-winning actor Annaleigh Ashford spent her career working alongside renowned actors and directors across stage film and television and she will continue that work with several upcoming projects. Ashford will be next seen alongside Kumail Nannjiani as part of Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford currently works on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch-Bachrach. The film will be available on Disney's DTC platforms and will be available as a Hulu Original. In March of 2023 Ashford returns to Broadway and play alongside Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), the same team who brought us Hamilton, will direct the show. Ashford's most recent role was as Paula Jones on Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment. The show is based on the national scandal which involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky, and Linda Tripp. She starred in two seasons on the popular CBS comedy B Positive. The show was created by Chuck Lorre with Marco Pennette. It featured Linda Lavin Sheryl Crow, Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen. Ashford is no stranger to Broadway. Her portrayal of Essie on You Can't Take It with You won her the Tony Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the original role of Lauren of Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway roles. Ashford splits her life between Los Angeles & New York. She was born in Denver & raised there.
